Did you discover Metalicus yet?  This Australian bodywear label has something of a cult following back home and we love it just as much here at Lovestretch. It may have something to do with the pared down aesthetic which translates into wearable lifestyle pieces, or it could be the fact that it’s designed for layering – which we really get.

Essentially, Metalicus is a collection of separates that uses two way-stretch materials in one-size pieces. With its constantly changing on-trend styling and seasonal colour palettes, the whole collection moves on but always in such a way that you simply add what you already have to what you’ve bought.

This idea was the brainchild of the Melbourne designer, Melma Hamersfeld, whose concept was born when the designer started experimenting with stocking fabric in the early 90′s. Hamersfeld saw the potential in her simple piece of stretchy material and transformed it into today’s single-minded collection.

Australian women go a bundle on her easy care, easy-to-wear singlets, tops, tees, leggings, tunic, jackets and dresses in an array of fashion-conscious colours. And so do we. The idea is simple and so are the clothes which makes them pretty perfect in our eyes.
