Zero-gravity yoga might sound strange, says Kate Carter in The Guardian, but it really works:
“Fear not: this is not yoga in a space simulation chamber, pinwheeling around in the lotus position while a hi-fi blares out Also sprach Zarathustra (aka the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey). Though that does sound rather appealing … No, in this class, you do yoga in a hammock suspended from the ceiling. So nearly as odd, but with more gravity.”
This week, Dee Thresher’s Body Focus its a serious topic: The Thigh Toner. Leggings are lovely but they need a great base if you’re going to bare them above your knees. Tone and tighten those thighs with this simple exercise that requires a small daily dose of exercise for maximum benefit.
Lie down on a soft surface on your side with the hips stacked on top of each other and the bottom leg bent behind you. Extend the top leg and raise higher than hip level. Pulse the leg 20 times up and down and then keep holding high bring the knee into the chest and extend out and up. Repeat 20 times. Keep the leg high and then curl the leg behind towards your bottom and then extend again. Repeat 20 times. Then repeat the first exercise of pulsing the leg up and down. Repeat 20 times then swap you attentions to the next leg.

Read about the latest chef du jour Laura Santtini, daughter of an Italian restaurateur. Her USP? The connection between food and emotions:
“There is an inextricable link between flavor and feelings,” Santtini says over biscuits and tea beside a roaring fire at a London hotel. “We eat aspects of life that we don’t like. But it’s OK to spit something out. Life shifts, and sometimes things have to taste a certain way. It’s important to check in with yourself, and recognize what sort of ingredients you’ve been using.”
Santtini spent much of her youth in the kitchen, bonding with her father, Gino Santin, over the mayonnaise bowl.
“The only place where we could connect was in the kitchen — I’d be the one pouring the oil for the mayonnaise,” she recalls. “I don’t really remember a weekend when we weren’t concocting something in the kitchen.”

What Daily Telegraph columnist Sarah Mower doesn’t know about fashion can be written on the tip of a Louboutin stilleto. When she says pants are back, they probably are:
“I knew with complete clarity what would happen next season the morning Anna Wintour, for whom I write, called a staff meeting during the Paris collections last month. One by one, all five of us filed into the room wearing wide-legged trousers (with the exception of Anna). When an unspoken consensus like that is struck among fashion professionals, it’s an augury. Mark my words: the 10-year dominance of the dress is weakening. We’re standing on the threshold of a new trouser-time.”
If you’re a fan of A-list elegance, listen up. It’s time to meet Peter Lang, the Celebrity Jeweller with added sparkle. These are the basics: ‘Each piece in the Peter Lang collection is cast, enamelled and assembled by hand. Many of these designs are finished with stunning Swarovski crystals and semi precious stones. Inspiration for the collection is drawn from each season’s current fashion directions, colours and influences. Peter Lang creations are in constant demand by stylists and fashion editors from Australia’s top fashion magazines and publications. Special one-off designs are created for film, television and music productions. His designs are featured regularly at red carpet events and major fashion runway shows.’

Forget dinner for two and a dozen red roses, Couples Yoga is the latest way to get together romantically. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are the latest celebrity pair to discover the transformational power of spiritual and physical union through yoga.
We all know about Sting and Trudie Styler’s Tantric leanings but the Brangelina version is closer to the version practiced by, wait for it, David and Victoria Beckham who, according to Now magazine, perform their power couples yoga twice a week.
What has it done for the Pitt-Jolie union? Less arguments and less drinking, apparently. “It’s a very intimate experience. You have to learn to become one entity entirely”, says the magazine’s source. “You stretch, breathe and move as one – it’s great for couples and probably better than talking in a way.”
If you know Lovestretch already you will know abut our d-e-v-o-t-i-o-n to finding the best yoga clothing for women plus those for Pilates and general wellbeing. She can be seen demonstrating how her LBD Workout can give us style perfection for the party season. Now that’s information worth having.
